Senior Quantity Surveyor – Birmingham – 6 month contract – Outside IR35\\nAre you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity to work on high-value, high voltage substation projects for National Grid? We are seeking a commercially astute professional to join our dynamic team, overseeing cost management, contracts, and procurement for major infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering critical energy infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

If you have a strong background in NEC contracts, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for driving value in complex engineering projects, we’d love to hear from you!\\nTechnical responsibilities\\nThis role will provide commercial support at a project level in all aspects of commercial control. You will work on both live projects and tender opportunities within the power sector. You will use your in-depth experience of the NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract (Options A and C) to administer projects effectively including the development and implementation of subcontracts with the supply chain.

This specific role requires Estimating experience.\\nFunctional responsibilities\\n * Conduct monthly internal reporting through the CVR and internal commercial management procedures.\\n * Conduct monthly reporting to the client in accordance with the contract and the client periodical reporting procedure\\n * Ensure cash flow is optimised through the development of activity schedules, the submission of monthly valuations and the control of subcontractor accounts\\n * Drive the recovery of outstanding monies and ensure all queries are fully resolved in a timely manner\\n * Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change events\\n * Manage change events in accordance with the contract including early warnings, CE notification, CE quotation and through to CE implementation and inclusion into the new cost and programme baselines.\\n * Produce cost estimates and subcontract enquiries for both tender proposals and compensation events.\\n * Ensure the project delivery teams adhere to risk management procedures and financial compliance\\n * Record the commercial KPI data at project level and minimise any potential negative effect on your projects\\n * Maintain the projects adherence to payment timescales\\n * Prepare and manage sub-contracts throughout the project, through to Final Account agreement.\\n * Work closely with the project delivery teams to enforce the business drivers and outcomes for your projects\\n * Maximise profitability having regard to client and subcontractor relations, third party incomers and the company’s strategic objectives regarding client relations and the risk/reward philosophy\\n * A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance\\n * Assistance with the management, preparation and submission of tender enquires.\\n * Undertake costing activities, utilizing a sound working knowledge of tender process\\n * Interact and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives\\n * Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines\\n * Able to work autonomously and/or as part of a project team\\n * Identifying new skills and competencies required to meet business needs and actively supporting development and recruitment of talent\\n * Support the continued development of more junior team personnel providing commercial guidance and establishing training needs\\nQualifications\\nRequirements:\\n * 3 years’ relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor\\n * BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent commercially related subject\\n * Estimating experience\\n * Experience within the Power Transmission & Distribution sector preferred\\n * Awareness and experience of construction methods, technology, standard forms of measurement and the NEC 3 and NEC4 forms of contract (Options A & C)\\n * Excellent computer literacy with experience MS office suite of programmes.\\n * Ability to read, understand, interpret and analyse a project programme\\nIf this opportunity sounds like a fit for you, click apply now!\\nThanks
