About the role

I’m currently leading a search for an Electrical Project Engineer (Substation) to join a leading engineering services company that works on full project lifecycle. From initial design and consultancy through to construction, testing, commissioning and connection, they are able to provide comprehensive end-to-end HV infrastructure solutions for projects from 11kV to 400kV.

This is a senior engineering role that is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of high-quality, compliant and cost-effective engineering design solutions for substation and utility infrastructure projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle from tender and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and handover. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and assuring integrated designs aligned with client requirements, industry standards and programme constraints. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful project delivery.

The scope covers substation design (Civils, Primary, Protection and Control, Communications and MEP elements) relating to distribution and transmission systems in the range 11kV to 132kV typically.

The Essentials:

  • Experience: 5+ years of electrical project engineering, with a preference for those with extensive substation project experience.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering OR NVQ Level 6
  • Location: Fully remote, with site visits as required.
  • Package: £55,000 – £75,000 (dependent on experience)
