SCADA AND PROTECTION ENGINEER - CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

I am working on a SCADA and Protection Engineer role for a contract opportunity within our Renewables and Energy sector, on a large BESS site in Canterbury!

ROLE: SCADA and Protection Engineer

DURATION: 12 months

LOCATION: Canterbury

The right candidate will need to have the following:

  • Experience of supporting the commissioning of a SCADA and protection system
  • A strong background in integration, coordination and security, must have protection relay, industrial communication protocol and network security experience
  • The ability to test and commission SCADA system components, including RTU's, HMI's and network infrastructure
  • Be able to configure and commission Ethernet switches, firewalls and VLAN's
  • Experience of working with SEL devices, including RTAC, SEL-3350, SEL-2731 and SEL-3355
  • Strong knowledge of ICS protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 104, Modbus TCP)
  • A very analytical mindset and over 5 years SCADA system commissioning experience
  • Relevant experience within substation automation, grid protection and utility background
