Job Overview – Primary Design Engineer This design and build HV electrical contractor (up to 132kV) are looking for a Primary Design Engineer to be responsible for the production of Protection Engineering drawings/documents (Schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams, cable schedules, core sheets, key line diagrams and panel layouts and arrangements) and checking against Design Specifications, programme, budget and to the appropriate quality and health and safety requirements. Package * Salary – Up to 80k * Working conditions – Fully remote (other than site visits when required) Selected Key Duties * Check/ review design related information provided by Client/Engineers. * Produce/ update design documentation, comprising of, but not limited to: Design Intent Document, Designer Risk Assessment, Cable Rating Report, Material Schedule, Control Drawing List / Engineering Transmittal, Pre-Construction Information * Produce/ update CAD drawings from details/ drawings provided or produced from site mark-ups comprising of, but not limited to: Civils; Building Layouts, Site Work Layouts; Existing, Enabling, Proposed, CDM Layouts, Cable Installation; Cable Routes & Trench Sections, Primary Plant; Clearance, Layouts, Elevations, Single Line Diagram, Busbar & connection arrangements * Support the Design Manager in the management of the design phase of projects, which includes quotation, ordering, attending meetings / site visits and reporting Experience/Skills Required * Proven experience and history of design delivery; with regards duediligence, quality and time. * Self-motivated with good time management skills. * Capable of working within a team, as well as autonomously/remotewhile meeting Client expectations, working to programme, andachieving tight deadlines. * An in-depth knowledge of all aspects of a Construction project andbe an effi cient document manager. * Experience and knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 – particularlyPrincipal Designer role. * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideaseff ectively, and to evaluate and interpret the ideas of others,whether Client or team member. * Work well under pressure. * Soft skills; * Eff ective communication, analytical/ logical approach toproject work and problem solving, adaptability, personal timemanagement. * Systems & Software; * AutoCAD, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project,Teams. * Full UK driving licence About applying: If you feel you are an ideal fit for this vacancy and would like to hear more about the specifics of the role, please do not hesitate to apply by clicking the ‘Apply’ button or sending me your most up-to-date CV
