Our HV design consultancy client are looking for a Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer to join their team. We’re seeking a standout candidate with a proven track record in power systems engineering. Armed with an electricalengineering degree or equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in UK Grid Code Compliance Studies, you’re well-versed in the nuances of power systems analysis and proficient in industry-standard software packages, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, and CDEGs. Responsibilities ✓ Performing steady-state studies such as load flow, fault level, and reactive compensation assessments. ✓ Conducting dynamic studies, including frequency and voltage stability within the G99 standard. ✓ Analysing P28 Transformer Energisation and Flicker. ✓ Carrying out harmonic G5 analysis, power quality assessments, and filter design. ✓ Undertaking transient over-voltage and insulation coordination simulation studies. ✓ Leading control interaction studies and earthing assessments. ✓ Overseeing protection coordination and Arc Flash studies. ✓ Providing grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers. ✓ Designing and programming solution components, with a focus on harmonic filters and reactive compensation. ✓ Offer full support to the Tendering and Construction Team and Clients ✓ Have a sound technical knowledge of multi-utility network components, network operation, operational policy, design standards and specifications ✓ Provide Technical support to all company Departments and Clients ✓ Review and sign-off the Power System Studies reports ✓ Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own personal service and getting things done ✓ Tenacious to deal with and overcome objections from external peers ✓ Provide additional support to the Coordination and Commercial Departments ✓ Be highly driven and self-motivated with an ability to work as part of a team
