A client of ours who provides specialist High Voltage (HV) installation and commissioning services up to 400kV is recruiting for a Portfolio Manager. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing a group of projects within a specific portfolio. This role involves leading Project Managers (PMs) and Apprentice Project Managers (APMs), coordinating resources, managing project delivery, and ensuring alignment with client requirements, internal standards, and corporate goals.

Selected Key Responsibilities:
- Project Allocation & Planning: Collaborate with the Heads of Tendering, Operations, and Commercials to assess new contract awards and allocate projects to appropriate portfolios based on resources, location, and project type. Set up and lead project kick-off meetings, ensuring alignment across all departments (design, commercial, and construction). Assign Project Managers and ensure all members of the project team are briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
- Project & Team Monitoring: Oversee Project Managers and Lead Designers within the portfolio, ensuring the timely and budget-conscious delivery of projects. Ensure weekly project reports and monthly contract reviews are completed, addressing any escalations immediately to the Heads of Commercial and Operations. Ensure adherence to company standards through regular audits and participation in Senior Leadership Team meetings. Team development and appraisals. Resource management. Ensure compliance with GTDS's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards in all portfolio projects. Participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings, sharing insights and suggesting improvements to processes. Monitor project performance, risk management, and client satisfaction, reporting regularly to senior management.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects within the HV Transmission & Distribution sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in overseeing multiple projects and project teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex project challenges and make critical decisions.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
