We are currently looking for a Network Design Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on the reconfiguration and reinforcement of the UK’s distribution network. Given your technical background in electrical distribution, I believe your expertise would be a significant asset for this particular programme of work.
The Role at a Glance:
- Network Reinforcement: Design complex schemes to replace, reconfigure, and reinforce LV and HV (11kV/20kV) networks.
- System Modelling: Utilise industry-standard tools (such as IPSA, DINIS, or PI) to complete studies, specifying fault-location and protection requirements.
- Infrastructure Delivery: Design for the installation of distribution substation plant, equipment, and network automation for ground-mounted and overhead systems.
- Strategic Connections: Develop designs for new LV/HV connections, ensuring all schemes meet Ofgem’s guaranteed standards of performance.
- Flexibility: Based out of either Leeds or Colchester, offering a hybrid working arrangement.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in electrical distribution network design (LV up to 20kV).
- Proficiency in network modelling software and a strong understanding of protection requirements.
- The ability to act as a technical point of contact, liaising with external customers and stakeholders to ensure scheme requirements are met.
