Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Engineer 📍 Cheltenham 💰 £450-£500/day 📅 12-Month Contract An established engineering contractor is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Engineer to support the design and delivery of a major infrastructure programme within the energy and utilities sector. This role offers a blend of design, engineering assurance and project delivery responsibilities across a long-term project portfolio. Key Responsibilities * Develop and review mechanical and process engineering designs. * Review PFDs and P&IDs. * Carry out engineering calculations and technical assessments. * Specify mechanical and process equipment. * Participate in HAZOP, HAZID and design risk assessments. * Support procurement, construction and commissioning. * Liaise with suppliers, contractors and project stakeholders. * Assist with multidisciplinary design reviews and value engineering. Requirements * Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar. * Experience within energy, utilities, industrial or process environments. * Knowledge of pressure systems, pipework and process equipment. * Strong understanding of process safety and engineering standards. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
