Sustainable Talent are working exclusively with an ICP signed up to a long term framework with a client who distributes, delivers and maintains electricity supplies across the Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Humber regions. As part of this framework, the ICP are needing lots of new delivery resource and are looking for Project Engineers at the Engineer and Senior Engineer levels.

The projects will range in size and complexity from small network extensions, through to major substation works, underground cable and overhead line projects ranging in costs from a few thousand to several million pounds. With a minimum five year pipeline of DNO works and a variety of projects, this is a really attractive proposition for any Electrical Project Engineers in the HV/T&D space.

We are looking for people able to work on their own initiative to lead the engineering management of these projects from project conception through to completion, apply engineering judgement and knowing when to seek specialist input. Projects will be assigned at the conceptual stage and project engineers will be required to manage the engineering design phase through a design team, preparation of work packages/input to contract documents as applicable and managing projects to a fixed timeline and cost.

The projects will range from large scale complex single site projects to multi location extensive work programmes over extended periods. The complexity of projects to be managed will depend on the individual’s experience and particular skill background, for example overhead line works, substation works or voltage level.

Package:

  • Salary - 35k-75k (dependent on experience)
  • Working conditions - Hybrid (split across home, office and site)
  • Location - Office in Leeds and majority of projects across South and West Yorkshire

Selected Skills/Experience:

  • Familiar with electricity distribution or transmission systems through previous experience or have a utility project management background
  • Applicants with transferrable skills from other suitable backgrounds, for example power generation, military engineering or mechanical engineering will be considered
  • Key attributes will be an awareness of all industry-based Health and Safety legislation and standards, a strong environmental awareness and a good working knowledge of the ESQCR Regulations 2002
  • Site visits and some supervision may be involved so a clean driving licence is essential
