We’re working with a leading contractor delivering large-scale façade remediation schemes, now looking to appoint a strong Design Manager to take ownership of complex cladding projects. This is a key role within the business — ideal for someone who understands façade design inside out, can navigate BSR requirements, and can lead, manage and push a team of designers to deliver. Candidates MUST have proven experience of Design Management within Facades.
The Role
You’ll take full responsibility for managing the design process across multiple cladding remediation schemes in live environments, overseeing and driving a team of designers, consultants and specialists. This is not a passive coordination role — we’re looking for someone who can take control, set standards and keep the entire design team moving forward.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage design on large-scale façade remediation projects
- Oversee and drive a team of designers, ensuring output, quality and programme alignment
- Push the design process forward — maintaining momentum across all stakeholders
- Work closely with façade consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements and Gateway processes
- Oversee technical submissions, RFIs and design change through to construction
- Identify and resolve design risks early, ensuring buildable solutions
- Act as the key link between design and delivery teams
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Design Manager on façade / cladding projects
- Strong technical knowledge of rainscreen systems and remediation works
- Solid understanding of BSR, fire compliance and Gateway processes
- Experience working on large-scale, live/occupied projects
- A strong leader — able to manage, challenge and drive a team of designers
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
Salary & Package
- £70,000 – £85,000 (depending on experience)
- Car allowance / travel allowance
- Pension + benefits
- Strong pipeline of secured remediation work
The Opportunity
This is a chance to join a contractor fully focused on façade remediation, working on some of the most relevant and technically demanding projects in the market right now. You’ll be given real responsibility, autonomy, and the platform to lead from the front and shape the design function.
