We are working with a leading specialist contractor delivering façade and cladding projects across the UK. They are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to support the design and assessment of temporary works across multiple live projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review and approve temporary works including scaffolding, hoarding and access systems
- Carry out structural assessments and wind load calculations on façade systems
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (BS5975, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations)
- Assess impact of temporary works on existing structures and load paths
- Produce clear calculations, technical reports and design documentation
- Provide technical support to site teams and attend project/design meetings
- Liaise with internal teams, clients and external consultants
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 4–8+ years’ experience in structural or temporary works design
- Strong knowledge of temporary works, scaffolding and load assessments
- Experience with wind load calculations and façade-related structures
- Familiar with relevant UK regulations and standards (BS, Eurocodes, CDM)
- Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Robot, SAP2000, STAAD or similar)
- Good communication and ability to manage multiple projects
Desirable
- Experience within façade / cladding projects
- Chartered or working towards (IStructE / ICE)
- Experience supporting site-based activities
