We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a growing M&E contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical building services projects across a range of sectors. You will be responsible for managing mechanical projects from initial design through to completion and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
- Oversee design coordination, procurement of plant/materials, and subcontractor management
- Ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget
- Coordinate labour resources and manage site teams effectively
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and main contractors
- Ensure all works comply with current regulations and industry standards (e.g. BREEAM, Part L)
- Monitor project performance, including cost control, variations, and risk management
- Ensure high standards of health & safety are maintained across all sites
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and handover processes
- Provide technical support and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle
Project Scope
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Plant rooms, boiler installations, and pipework systems
- Domestic and commercial plumbing systems
- Renewable technologies such as ASHP and energy-efficient solutions
- Full design & build M&E packages across commercial, industrial, and public sector projects
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the M&E / Building Services sector
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and installations
- Experience managing projects from design through to completion
- Ability to manage subcontractors, labour, and supply chain effectively
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience working on design & build projects
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems
- SMSTS / CSCS certification
