Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA) Location: Blyth, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Working Arrangement: On-site Sector: Data Centres / Major Construction Projects About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA) to join the commercial team on a major data centre project in Blyth, UK. You will take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of assigned packages, ensuring effective cost control, procurement, commercial reporting and financial delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers, Package Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team, you will provide commercial leadership across MEP and/or Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) packages. Key Responsibilities Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned packages throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare, review and manage budgets, forecasts and cost reports. Lead procurement activities, including subcontractor selection, tendering and contract negotiations. Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts. Monitor project costs and proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities. Work closely with Project Managers, Package Managers and site teams on cost and commercial management. Ensure contractual and commercial documentation is maintained accurately and up to date. Attend commercial meetings, site meetings and project reviews. Evaluate and manage change orders and variations in accordance with contract requirements. Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts. Provide commercial advice and support to project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions and project procedures. Prepare financial and commercial reports for senior management. Proactively identify, manage and resolve commercial and contractual issues. Support the successful commercial close-out of packages and projects. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline. * Minimum 8+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector. * Strong experience managing the commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects. * Proven experience in cost control, procurement and contract administration. * Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial practices. * Excellent negotiation, analytical and financial management skills. * Experience managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities. * Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams. * Experience within data centres, industrial, mission-critical or other complex construction environments is highly desirable. * Strong MEP and/or CSA commercial experience is advantageous.
