Quality Lead Location: Blyth, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Working Arrangement: On-site Sector: Data Centres / Major Construction Projects About the Role We are seeking an experienced Quality Lead to join the project team on a major data centre development in Blyth, UK. The Quality Lead will take responsibility for ensuring that mechanical works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the construction team, subcontractors, consultants and wider project stakeholders, you will lead QA/QC activities, monitor quality performance, manage inspections and documentation, and ensure quality issues are effectively resolved and closed out. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure mechanical installations comply with project specifications, drawings and applicable industry standards. Conduct inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping and associated services. Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors and consultants to ensure quality requirements are consistently achieved. Review and approve Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and technical submittals. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements. Record, manage and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions. Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including inspection records, test results and quality reports. Attend and contribute to site meetings, quality meetings and engineering reviews. Support the commissioning process by ensuring all quality documentation is complete and compliant. Work with the project team to identify and resolve quality and technical issues. Assist with the management and close-out of mechanical snagging and defects. Promote continuous improvement across project quality processes and standards. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Minimum 3+ years' experience in a QA/QC role within mechanical construction. * Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, standards and documentation. * Experience inspecting mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, piping and associated services. * Good knowledge of ITPs, Method Statements, technical submittals and quality reporting. * Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions and quality inspections. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * Ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors and consultants. * Experience within data centres, industrial or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
