Commissioning Manager Location: Blyth, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Working Arrangement: On-site Sector: Data Centres / Mission-Critical Infrastructure About the Role We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager (Cx Manager) to join the site team on a major data centre project in Blyth, UK. Reporting to the Commissioning Lead, you will take responsibility for coordinating and managing commissioning activities across the project, acting as a key interface between commissioning teams, vendors, contractors, designers and client stakeholders. The role requires a strong combination of technical M&E commissioning knowledge and project management skills, with the ability to lead teams, manage programmes and ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and supervise Commissioning Engineers across the project. Define commissioning scopes and manage delivery against the agreed strategy and programme. Monitor commissioning milestones, progress and deadlines, proactively identifying and managing risks. Coordinate commissioning schedules, priorities and milestones with internal teams, vendors and client stakeholders. Act as a key point of contact for the client regarding commissioning activities. Participate in detailed design reviews for CFCI and OFCI work packages. Coordinate the resolution of design, system and process queries with designers and client teams. Manage the overall M&E Commissioning Programme, including sequencing, milestone tracking and reporting. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, commissioning procedures and project standards. Plan and coordinate vendor FATs and FWTs, including attendance where required. Manage commissioning activities for CFCI and OFCI vendors. Attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings. Prepare and submit commissioning progress and technical reports. Work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure project quality objectives are achieved. Manage commissioning documentation, including test scripts, compliance statements and sign-off records. Ensure all commissioning documentation is reviewed, approved and completed to achieve the required commissioning level and final handover. Requirements * Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Commissioning leadership role within data centre or mission-critical projects. * Mechanical or Electrical bias accepted, with a strong working knowledge of both disciplines. * Proven experience managing commissioning activities on complex M&E projects. * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Excellent client, contractor and stakeholder management abilities. * Experience working within a multi-contractor construction environment. * Strong understanding of EHS requirements relating to mechanical and electrical commissioning. * Strong organisational, communication and reporting skills. * Experience with data centre or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
