Mechanical Engineer Location: Blyth, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Working Arrangement: On-site Sector: Data Centres / Major Construction Projects About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the project team on a major data centre development in Blyth, UK. You will support the delivery and coordination of mechanical works on site, ensuring activities are completed safely, on programme and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality standards. This is a hands-on site-based role, working closely with subcontractors, supervisors, engineers, designers and the wider project team. Key Responsibilities Support the coordination and delivery of mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle. Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submittals. Support site QA/QC processes and ensure mechanical works meet the required standards. Coordinate daily mechanical activities with subcontractors, supervisors and the wider project team. Monitor site progress and report programme status to senior engineers and management. Maintain and manage mechanical documentation, technical submittals and safety records. Attend site meetings, engineering reviews and planning meetings. Liaise with the design team to raise, track and resolve RFIs and technical queries. Assist with installation inspections, testing and verification of mechanical systems. Support commercial management by monitoring variations and assisting with progress claims. Identify and help resolve technical, design and coordination issues. Assist with the management and close-out of mechanical snagging and defects. Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme and safety requirements. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Minimum 3+ years' experience within the mechanical construction sector. * Experience with mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework and associated building services. * Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and site practices. * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical installation methodologies. * Good organisational, communication and coordination skills. * Experience working with mechanical subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. * Experience within data centres, industrial or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
