My key client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead commercial growth, manage key customer relationships, and drive new business development.
The role is central to the Company's sales strategy, working closely with the Managing Director and wider team to deliver revenue targets, strengthen customer partnerships, and support the Company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Company's sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities across target markets and sectors.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers, acting as a key point of contact for major accounts.
- Prepare and deliver quotations, proposals and tenders in line with Company pricing policy.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform commercial decision-making.
- Provide regular sales performance reporting and forecasting to the Managing Director.
- Represent the Company at trade shows, customer meetings and industry events, including travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Work collaboratively with operations, technical and finance teams to ensure customer commitments are delivered.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline and customer information.
- Uphold the Company's health and safety policies at all times, including when working on customer premises.
- Safeguard confidential Company information, including pricing, customer and supplier data, in line with the Company's confidentiality obligations.
Person Specification
- Proven track record in a sales management or senior sales role, ideally in a technical, industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong track record of new business development and account management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to interpret pricing, margin and performance data.
- Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
- Self-motivated, well organised, and able to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing or mentoring a small sales team.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Existing network of contacts within relevant industry sectors.
