Civil Structural Engineer, permanent opportunity. My HPC client is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer for their offices in Bristol, 3 days per week in the office, one of which may be a site day and 2 days from home. We are looking for engineers around the 3 years of experience level - total package £45-£50K.

Main activities:

  • Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology;
  • Checking and coordinating the detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steel structures;
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA process;
  • In charge of the assessment and the response to Field Changes Requests, Field Information Requests or Site Non Conformance coming from the civil works contractors;
  • Liaising with other stakeholders of the site engineering team or construction team for clarification on the site request;
  • Liaising with Back Office in France, Poland, Romania and Tunisia for clarification on design package or for closing out of design package issues;
  • Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables;
  • Site Walkdowns and inspection.

Skills and Experience:

Your skills are important and your attitude towards taking on fresh challenges to innovative 3D rebar modelling is key. You’ll enjoy working closely with other engineers, engineers pilot, BIM Coordinator, BIM manager, chief draftsman, draftsman, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams and be able to work with these stakeholders to define solutions. From a technical perspective, we are looking for our team to have a mix of design experience, site experience and some of this experience within a highly regulated industry such as the nuclear industry.
