My client specialises in reducing engineering risk by applying detailed product design and engineering skill sets during the new product development process. The companies’ facilities comprise a design office, engineering & model-making workshop as well as a suite of testing equipment from tensile testing, and high-speed photography through to environmental testing. We strive to ensure our team has the latest technology to work with, continuing the two consultancies' ability to lead the way in new product development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supporting the company in all of the following areas:
- Desktop Research (Human Centred, Technical and Commercial)
- Active Participation in Workshops and client meetings including reporting
- Creative thinking and problem-solving
- Engineering development in CAD (Solidworks preferred with options of Fusion 360 or Ansys)
- Test Rig design and build, including development of control systems
- Testing, including design of experiments, reporting and iterative development
- Prototype assembly
- Low Volume Production
- Inspection and Quality Assurance
- Communication with manufacturers
Required Experience
- A very recent graduate in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
- Solidworks experience is a must / Fusion 360 is preferable
- Demonstrated practical aptitude, such as hands-on skills within an engineering workshop (can be student projects)
- Competent in creating spreadsheets, word processed documents and creating presentations.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with G-suite preferred.
- Articulate, both verbally and written
- Basic electronics and programming knowledge

- Ambitious & passionate about solving technical problems
- Can adapt to changes in project scope and direction
- Can work within a team, as well as self-manage and work independently
