Ecological Clerk of Works / ECoW's are required for ongoing contract work onsite at Sizewell C in Suffolk. This is a fantastic ongoing contract opportunity to join a growing team on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. It is likely the work will run into 2026. Good day rates on offer. Start dates are ASAP and the initial work will run until September/October 2026.
- A first degree in ecology/zoology or similar or a Masters in Ecology or similar.
- QCIEEM accreditation or applied for (as a minimum – SZC requirement is for Associate or Full membership to this chartered professional body, but we have been given the allowance to recruit at QCIEEM level for the right candidates).
- Good understanding of wildlife legislation.
- CSCS card.
- 4x4 trained (can be achieved during onboarding).
- Two seasons as an ECoW.
- Preferably ECoW experience on a NSIP.
- Ideally some consultancy experience (as this is usually where graduates get experience of species ecology, surveys, mitigation and legislation).
- Ideally hold one or more protected species survey licences or have been named ecologist or an AA/AAP listed on a protected species mitigation licence.
- Ideally hold FISC Level 3 for botanical ID.
