Are you a planner - or planning graduate - looking to apply your planning knowledge to major infrastructure projects at pre-construction stage? This role sits in a work-winning / pre-construction environment, supporting tenders and early-stage projects (including DCO-led schemes), with flexibility on location and clear progression.

Location
Based from one of the client’s many UK hub offices, with travel to Derby around twice per month. Typical pattern is 2 days home / 3 days office. Predominantly desk-based with minimal site travel.

Company Overview
Our client delivers major UK power and utilities infrastructure and is growing its in-house Environmental & Sustainability team. Planning and consents work is being brought in-house, creating an opportunity to become the planning lead within a supportive sustainability function.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Review tenders to identify planning, consent and permitting requirements
  • Support DCO and major infrastructure schemes at pre-construction stage
  • Set out planning strategies, programmes and timelines
  • Draft planning / ES documents or manage specialist consultants
  • Maintain consents and permits registers and support handover to delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Town & Country Planning (or similar) or planning / consents experience
  • Understanding of the UK planning system and DCO process
  • Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder skills
  • Interest in sustainability and environmental topics
