Are you ready to make your mark on one of the UK’s most ambitious renewable energy infrastructure projects? We’re supporting a Tier 1 contractor delivering a nationally significant underground cabling scheme that will help power the UK’s low-carbon future. This is a rare opportunity to play a hands-on role on a 5-year project that stretches from Scotland down to England.

As Environmental Sustainability Advisor, you’ll be site-based near Hull (initially in pre-construction offices, then moving to a purpose-built construction compound near Market Weighton). You’ll join an established environmental and sustainability team with a strong collaborative culture, working closely with the operations team from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting environmental compliance across site works including construction, civils, archaeology, hydrology and more
  • Reviewing planning conditions, management plans, and ensuring permit requirements are met
  • Conducting site inspections and monitoring, escalating risks or issues proactively
  • Building positive relationships with the operations team and attending weekly progress meetings
  • Assisting with documentation and delivery against key sustainability targets (e.g. BNG, carbon reduction, resource efficiency)
  • Engaging with local stakeholders and ensuring best practice in community and environmental impact

What we’re looking for:

  • Prior experience in a site-based environmental or sustainability role, ideally within infrastructure, civils, utilities, or heavy industry
  • Strong working knowledge of UK environmental legislation, permitting, and compliance
  • A degree in Environmental Science or a similar related subject—or equivalent practical experience in construction with a transition into sustainability
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between project sites

Why this role? This is more than just a job - it’s an opportunity to gain deep, hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of environmental topics on a nationally strategic energy project. You’ll join a supportive team with clear progression opportunities into Senior Advisor and beyond, as the wider sustainability function continues to grow rapidly. The working culture is collaborative, down-to-earth, and social - with regular team events and strong buy-in from operations and site teams. You’ll be supported to grow, learn, and thrive in a role that will stretch your skills while supporting the UK’s transition to a greener future.

What’s on offer:

  • A competitive basic salary
  • Company car
  • Ongoing Training & Development opportunities
  • Long-term career progression on a 5-year nationally significant energy infrastructure project
  • Family-Friendly Policies (including enhanced parental leave)
  • Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more
  • A supportive and sociable working culture with strong sustainability team presence on site
  • The chance to broaden your environmental experience across civils, ecology, archaeology, water, carbon and BNG
