As an Energy and Carbon Intelligence Analyst at Sustainable Energy First, you will analyse and report clients' energy consumption and carbon emissions. This role is vital in helping businesses develop robust carbon intelligence, metering, monitoring and targeting systems that support effective energy, carbon and financial management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions using frameworks such as the GHG Protocol.
- Review and refine energy-saving targets based on performance data, regulatory changes and evolving client priorities.
- Advise internal teams and clients on carbon methodologies, regulatory changes and best practices.
- Create high-quality reporting – develop and prepare detailed, accurate, and timely reports for clients.
- Set and review realistic and achievable energy-saving targets with stakeholders.
- Deliver reporting directly to the client, focusing on value-added insight.
- Build client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for all reporting matters.
- Recommend operational or technical changes to improve efficiency and support implementation of energy-saving initiatives, tracking their impact.
Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of energy consumption, carbon emissions, sustainability practices and environmental regulations.
- Data analysis capabilities – able to analyse large datasets, track energy trends and produce clear, comprehensive reports.
- Regulatory knowledge – familiarity with environmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to clients.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient practices, renewable energy solutions and strategies to reduce carbon footprints.
- Attention to detail and precision in managing sustainable data.
- Analytical mindset – identify trends and areas of concern in client data.
- Problem-solving skills – identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in client reports and correct them.
- Proficiency in reporting tools such as Excel.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £35,000-£38,000 per annum.
- Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays + your birthday off, increasing to 30 days on length of service.
- Hybrid working – able to commute to our Fulwood office 2 days per week.
- Flexible working – ability to bank up to 5 extra days off per year.
