Sustainable Energy First is an energy and sustainability consultancy, founded to solve energy management problems in very large, complex commercial estates. This remains the core of our business driven by a commitment to sustainability and the goal of reducing our clients' carbon footprint.
The role involves liaising with some of SE First's largest customers at a senior level and is responsible for strategy scoping, sourcing, negotiating, and implementing bespoke flex supply agreements for clients; this is typically for flex Gas & Electricity supply contracts but will extend to consortium and fixed contracts. The Bespoke Procurement Specialist is accountable for converting potential revenue through their relationship with the client and placing of supply contracts. They will also keep the client up to date on markets, volume forecasting and strategy along with any other changes that may affect the client's procurement.
Responsibilities:
- To act as first point of contact for our procurement service
- Advise the client on flexible products and assist them in selecting the most appropriate contract/strategy for their business
- To provide market information and risk analysis to support with the client decision to extend supply contracts
- Discuss supply contract options based on pricing, functionality and service levels of suppliers
- Maintain the database and complete all activity in a process compliant manner
- Maintain regular quality communication with clients to build a positive working relationship
- Support the wider team with adhoc client facing queries and system/process improvements
- Provide support to the wider business to unlock potential revenue opportunities
Key ingredients for the role:
- Previous experience working within the energy industry in a senior procurement role
- Good understanding of commodity markets and the effect of different types of purchasing
- Excellent understanding of all Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Previous experience producing reports in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for external clients
- Good attention to detail
- Good numeracy skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills to enable to identify options/recommendations
Salary: To be discussed at interview
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays + your birthday off, increasing to 30 days on length of service
Hybrid working: at least 2 days per week working from our Fulwood, Preston office
