Graduate Acoustic Consultant

We are looking for a Graduate Acoustic Consultant to join our expert team in Hampshire.

This is a broad, hands‑on role in a small, award‑winning consultancy: from your first weeks you will be measuring, modelling and reporting on live projects alongside experienced engineers, with structured support for your professional development.

THE ROLE

In a small practice you will see the whole life of a project rather than only one compartment. Your day‑to‑day work will be interesting and varied and you can expect to be:

• Carrying out sound and vibration measurements on site – in buildings, on construction sites, at festivals and outdoor events and in the natural environment.
• Undertaking calculations, acoustic modelling and data analysis using industry‑standard software, with acoustic modelling software such as IMMI, Cadna A, Sound PLAN, INSUL or similar.
• Preparing clear technical reports, design advice and drawing mark‑ups for clients and project teams.
• Attending design team meetings and site visits with senior colleagues.
• Contributing ideas: we are a small close‑knit collaborative team where creativity and innovative ideas are encouraged.
• WHERE YOU WILL DEVELOP

You will gain skills and experience across our three core areas of practice, working directly with leading practitioners in each:

Building acoustics.

The acoustic design of schools, healthcare buildings, housing, luxury hotels and hospitality venues, together with noise‑at‑work assessments and the retrofit of existing buildings.

Environmental acoustics.

Practical noise monitoring and assessment for construction projects, festivals and outdoor events, and skills in planning, licensing and soundscape design.

Bioacoustics.

Eco‑and bioacoustics as part of our approach to regenerative acoustics, including designing soundscapes which connect people and nature and using acoustics to monitor biodiversity.

• WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• A degree (achieved or expected) in acoustics, engineering, physics, environmental science, audio technology or another relevant technical discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A methodical, analytical approach and good attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm, creativity and curiosity, with a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
• An interest in sustainability and particularly in how acoustics can help deliver a better built environment and enhance health and well‑being for both people and planet.
• You will need a UK driving licence and a willingness to travel around the UK to clients and a varied range of project sites.
