We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join the Winchester and Test Valley CAMHS team. Based across Advertiser House in Andover and Avalon House in Winchester, this role provides vital support to young people facing complex mental health challenges. Working within a skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will offer clinical leadership, assessments, and targeted treatments, focusing on high-risk and complex cases. This post includes 7 Programmed Activities (PAs) weekly, balancing direct clinical care with opportunities for professional development and service enhancement. Main duties, tasks & skills required:
- Conducting in-depth psychiatric evaluations, developing personalised treatment plans, and overseeing complex cases within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
- Acting as the Responsible Clinician, managing Mental Health Act responsibilities and maintaining clinical oversight for a select caseload.
- Providing guidance to team members, ensuring best practices in risk management and care delivery.
- Participating in service planning, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engaging in training and mentoring junior doctors, contributing to a culture of continuous professional growth and innovation.

Qualifications:
- Full Registration with the General Medical Council
- MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
- CCT in general Child and Adolescent psychiatry.
- Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
