Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to appoint a Software Developer to join an established Agile development team responsible for delivering new features, enhancing existing functionality and supporting mission-critical desktop applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys working across the full application stack, contributing to architecture and design decisions, and delivering high-quality software within a collaborative Scrum environment.
The Role
As part of a highly skilled development team, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing and ongoing support of a mature Windows desktop application built using modern Microsoft technologies. You'll be involved throughout the full software development life cycle, working closely with fellow developers, QA engineers and Product Owners to deliver regular software releases while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. This is a hands-on development role offering a genuine opportunity to influence technical direction and contribute to the evolution of a well-established software platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Windows desktop applications using C#, .NET and WinForms
- Develop features across the application stack, from user interface through to database
- Contribute to software architecture, technical design and solution discussions
- Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practice
- Develop and maintain automated unit and system tests
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues as part of third-line support
- Work collaboratively within an Agile Scrum team delivering frequent software releases
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2+ years Commercial experience developing desktop applications using C#
- Strong knowledge of .NET and Windows desktop development using WinForms
- Experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or SQLite
- Understanding of the full software development life cycle
- Experience participating in peer code reviews
- Passion for producing high-quality, maintainable software
- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests
- Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
- Ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance
