Ultrasound Radiology Administrative Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated administrative assistant to join our friendly ultrasound administrative team.

The role will involve a variety of administrative and receptionist duties which support the daily patient flow and operations of this busy department.

To be considered for this role previous experience in a customer service role is highly desirable.

his position will require excellent communication skills to greet direct and assist customers in the department. You will require sufficient IT skills to access and enter data onto the Radiology information system and to book appointments, training will be provided.

Experience in administrative procedures would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of the administration and clerical team supporting Radiology in delivering a quality appointment service for their patients.

The administration role will involve working across multiple systems [e.g. Email, E-Referrals, CERNER, CRIS, Ordercomms to manage patient appointments in accordance with local procedures and national policies.

Communication is key to this role, the post holder will be required to:

o Record patient demographic and referral information accuratelyo Be polite, professional and empathetic when speaking to callers on the telephoneo Using initiative to be able to problem solve and answer queries as they arise

Job responsibilities

1. To support the Modality Leads and Booking Co-ordinators for booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments in accordance with radiology booking rules.

2. To us IT skills to provide service delivery and efficiency information as required.

3. To communicate appointment details with patients written, verbal or other in regards to managing appointment slots.

4. Record referral information accurately, update, manage and retrieve patient information on CERNER, CRIS and Ordercomms in a timely manner

5. To support Modality Leads and Booking Co-ordinators to deliver high levels of appointment utilisation

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience within an administration environment.
  • Previous experience of dealing with the general public
  • In depth knowledge of CERNER, CRIS & Ordercomms
  • Working in an office environment
