An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to work within our Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) at Eastbourne District General Hospital. As part of the Physiotherapy department, you will be joining a big supportive team passionate about caring for the residents of East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to attend an in-service training programme and complete supervision sessions with your line manager. You will also work closely alongside the IDT Occupational Therapy team and the wider multi-disciplinary team, including our newly appointed Advanced Practitioner to the team.

Main duties of the job:

  • Work with a team of Physiotherapists providing a high level of assessment and rehabilitation to the patients of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust; including Frailty, General medicine and palliative care.
  • Work alongside the Physiotherapists and autonomously carry out exercise programmes, maintenance programmes and rehabilitation sessions planned by a Physiotherapist.
  • Complete data inputting and assist with the ordering of equipment through the Millbrook system to ensure timely discharge for patients across the trust.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs or Equivalent Qualifications, NVQ in Care
  • Experience: Ability to communicate and work with patients, NHS or Social Services Experience, Experience within Therapy Setting
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£24,937 to £26,598 a year per annum, pro rata.
