A seven week full time teaching role in a small, welcoming rural primary school in the East Sussex Weald.

Location: Village primary school near Heathfield, East Sussex (TN21)

Role: Year 4 Class Teacher

Contract: Long-term supply — full time, Monday to Friday

Pay: £168.80-£261.78 per day | MPS | Weekly PAYE

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8:30am-3:30pm

The School: This is a small, village primary school set in the rural East Sussex Weald, close to the market town of Heathfield. The school serves the local village community and takes pride in knowing every child by name and by character.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 4 teacher. This is a full-time class teaching role with full planning, teaching, and assessment responsibilities. You will be teaching a Year 4 class full time, Monday to Friday, planning and delivering well-structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, and conducting ongoing assessment while maintaining clear pupil records. You will create an inclusive, calm classroom environment with high expectations, support a range of learners including those with SEND, and work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school leadership. Attend relevant staff meetings and briefings as required.

Pay and Contract: Pay for this role is based on your position on the Main Pay Scale (MPS), ranging from £168.80 to £261.78 per day. Pay is processed weekly via PAYE – income tax and National Insurance are deducted correctly before you receive your pay, with no umbrella companies and no hidden deductions.

What We Are Looking For: You will need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), which is essential for this role, along with experience teaching KS2, ideally with Year 4 experience. We are looking for confident curriculum knowledge across the core and foundation subjects, strong classroom management with an inclusive and positive approach, and a reliable, professional, and adaptable character. This role is suitable for experienced classroom teachers. It is also appropriate for confident Early Career Teachers with strong KS2 placement experience who are looking for a full-time long-term role to develop in.
