A large and welcoming primary school in Worthing, West Sussex, is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This forward-thinking school values creativity, ambition, and inclusive education, where every child’s unique abilities are celebrated and diversity is championed. You will join a specialist SEND provision within the school, supporting children with a range of SEND and helping them access learning in both small group and mainstream settings. With support from an experienced team, you will provide personalised, high-quality assistance, enabling children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working with some of the friendliest children in Worthing, you will play a key role in helping them develop confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEND.
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements / Experience:
- Recent experience working with children, ideally in a SEND, SEMH, classroom, nursery, medical, or care home setting.
- Patience, compassion, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
