Sussex Teachers are recruiting an experienced SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) for Glebe Primary School in Shoreham-by-Sea, three days per week for the Autumn term, September through to Christmas. This is a fixed, term-long part-time role in a well-regarded local primary, ideal for an experienced SEND teacher who wants meaningful, consistent work without a full-time commitment. If you hold QTS and have SENCo experience, we would like to hear from you.
The Role
- Lead and co-ordinate SEND provision across the school
- Maintain and review the SEND register and individual support plans
- Work with teachers and teaching assistants to ensure effective in-class support
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies
- Oversee EHCP applications, reviews and paperwork
- Support the school in meeting its statutory SEND responsibilities
This is a three-day-per-week commitment for the full Autumn term, with the specific days to be agreed with the school.

Requirements:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience as a SENCo or in a senior SEND role
- Hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (NASENCO), or be willing to work towards it, where required
- Have a strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
- Be confident liaising with parents, staff and external agencies
- Be available three days per week for the full Autumn term
