St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School is a small, friendly school in Angmering, West Sussex, part of the Bosco Catholic Education Trust. With 179 pupils aged four to eleven, the school is large enough to offer a full and rich curriculum while remaining small enough to know every child as an individual. The Role
We are looking for an experienced Year 3 class teacher to take full responsibility for a Lower Key Stage 2 class at St Wilfrid's for the final five weeks of the summer term, from 15 June to the last day of school.
Responsibilities:
- Take on full planning, teaching, marking and assessment responsibilities from day one, working within the school's established curriculum plans and assessment systems.
- Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum across all subject areas.
- Mark and assess pupils' work regularly, maintaining clear and accurate records in line with the school's expectations.
- Create a calm, inclusive and high‑expectation classroom environment and support the range of learners, including those with SEND, using the school's existing systems and support staff.
- Work as a full member of the Lower KS2 team for the duration of the placement, attending relevant staff meetings and briefings.
- Adapt to the demands of a short‑term supply teaching role, demonstrating reliable and professional conduct.
Pay and Contract
Pay for this role is based on your position on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) and is processed weekly via PAYE. Income tax and National Insurance are deducted correctly before you receive your pay. There are no umbrella companies and no hidden deductions.
What We Are Looking For
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Genuine experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 3 or a neighbouring year group.
- Confident knowledge of the Lower KS2 curriculum across the core subjects – English, mathematics, and science – and the wider foundation subjects.
- Positive, inclusive approach to classroom management.
- Adaptability and professionalism required for short‑term supply teaching.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (updating or applying for a new one if required).
- Two professional references from previous schools or employers.
- Right to work in the UK.
