To provide support and activities for service users in the respite day service and our community café’s, promoting independence and supporting carers.

Working Hours: (Part Time) Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:30am to 5pm (30mins unpaid break), Tuesdays 1pm to 4pm = Total weekly hours 24 hours

Role Description: We are seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to join our team on-site in Uckfield. In this role, you will assist in organizing and delivering productive and engaging activities tailored to the needs of our service users. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Supporting individuals with various activities
  • Providing companionship
  • Ensuring a positive and inclusive environment
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive setting for all participants
  • Actively contributing to planning activity programs
  • Helping manage any necessary training for volunteers or participants
  • Supporting individuals with their personal care

Qualifications:

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively engage with service users, team members, and carers
  • Experience or interest in activity planning
  • Knowledge or background in Elder Care, understanding the needs of individuals with dementia, mental health challenges, or other specific conditions
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with those in need of support
  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of service users
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a community setting is an advantage
