We are a Real Living Wage employer, looking for a full-time Receptionist/Administrator to join our Wadhurst Medical Group team.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Undertake activities within the administrative and reception team such as answering the telephone; monitoring and responding to emails; booking appointments; coding and processing clinical documents; managing tasks; processing prescriptions; generating and monitoring NHS and private referrals and associated admin; completing patient registrations, ensuring coding is complete and information has been correctly transferred; generating e-RS Advice and Guidance requests, and monitoring and actioning e-RS worklists; supporting the completion of private work from either patients or external organisations (e.g. insurance companies).
- Manage enquiries from patients, other medical professionals, Secondary Care, Social Services and other teams as necessary.
- Use your own judgement to ensure that (a) patients with no prior appointment, but who need an urgent consultation, are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner, and (b) appointments are booked for patients where further investigations are required.
- Ensure efficient service delivery to patients.
- Ensure effective time management and workload prioritisation.
- Participate in staff duty rota and arrangements for appropriate substitution during staff absence and holiday.
- Promote good staff relations and motivation.
- Provide effective communication mechanisms with all public and professional users of the practice - either face to face, over the telephone, in writing or by electronic mediums.
- Participate in internal and external training events as required.
- Ensure strict adherence to the practice’s computer security protocols.
- Ensure that complaints from patients are brought to the attention of the Practice Management Team.
- Use own initiative to effectively organise own work and act on own initiative, within broad procedural guidelines and without direct supervision.
- Actively partake in supervisions and appraisals.
- Any other tasks, as requested by the Practice Management Team.
Wadhurst Medical Group offers general medical services to people living and working in Wadhurst, Ticehurst and the surrounding area of East Sussex on the border of Kent. The Surgery is run by Sussex Primary Care Ltd.
Sussex Primary Care (SPC) manages several GP surgeries across Sussex. The business is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) and was set up to support GP practices looking for a different way of working, forming a unique and innovative partnership between GP services and NHS Community Services.
