OUR TEAM: At Wish Park Surgery we are a large friendly and supportive team of multidisciplinary GPs and clinicians, and skilled and experienced administrators.
HOURS: Ideally not less than 20 hours per week but flexible for the right candidate.
We are seeking a "treatment room" Nurse who will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of Practice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as indicated by patient need. This includes the following procedures (but training and support can be offered for any of the procedures for which you are not qualified/experienced):
- Removal of Sutures/ clips
- Travel Clinic
- Venepuncture
- Hypertension Management / 24 hour ambulatory BP
- Ear syringing
- Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs and upholding the standards required for Infection prevention and control.
- Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
- Ordering of Health Promotion Literature.
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels if required.
- Participation in administrative systems in the practice.
- At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records.
- A duty to advise other team members of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
- Attend and participate in any practice / clinical meetings weekly.
- On occasion, there may be a requirement to undertake home visits.
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
