Vacancy Information
The Billingshurst hub is run successfully by a team of volunteers who support the local community by liaising between the public and the police.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
You will be the first point of contact for visitors to the hub, signposting them to the appropriate police departments or informing them that their concern is not a policing matter. You will not handle 999 calls or responses.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging with the public at the Billinghurst hub.
- Supporting crime reporting via the internet.
- Assisting victims of crime and directing them to relevant agencies.
- Providing advice and signposting to the community.
- Representing Sussex Police in the community.
- Supporting community workshops on crime prevention and fraud.
Skills & Experience
- Good understanding of IT.
- Empathetic and understanding of various issues.
