This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions. Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions. Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

The Role & Key Responsibilities: From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. The People Resolution Centre Advisor is an exciting and challenging role within the People Operations function, a portfolio within People Services that includes a Resolution Centre, People Partners and Casework Team. There is an Advisor vacancy within our Sussex Team based in Lewes. This is a critical role, supporting a high profile, front facing, and customer focussed operations function to all employees and stakeholders. This will include face to face on occasion and resolving issues at the earliest opportunity. You will provide expert HR advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders across both forces, gathering the full picture and articulating options to seek the best outcomes. You will take the lead in providing advice on policy and procedure, including issues that are escalated by other People Services colleagues. You will act as a coach/mentor to People Resolution Assistants, enhancing their HR knowledge and improving customer service provision and resolution. The People Operations team will work in an agile nature that will include the need to work at Headquarters, Lewes on a weekly basis, but also the need to travel across force areas on occasion together with the opportunity to work from home. You will be able to apply flexibility to your working day in line with meetings and demand.
Skills & Experience: You will be CIPD qualified or hold equivalent professional experience and have Level 3 qualification in any subject. You will have good communication skills both verbal and written. You should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications. We are looking for you to be able to plan, manage and prioritise your workload whilst responding flexibly to changing demands. This role requires you to be able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment, diagnosing cause and resolution options. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and can embed a culture of continuous improvement and delivery.
