The Role & Key Responsibilities: In this role you will be part of the Horsham Iris team, assisting with both children and adult investigations. Iris is a newly formed team having only been created in May 2025. Iris Horsham is a small team of dedicated and enthusiastic people who are all passionate about working with and safeguarding our most vulnerable people. The cases that come through the team and go to CPS for charge include a huge amount of evidence and third party material which plays a vital role within any charging decision, as well as the creation of safety plans. The team have a close working relationship with the MASH and our colleagues within children and adults services. The ASA role is going to be vital in assisting and supporting the DC/PIP2 and PC's with taskings and preparing the files for CPS and court. The job will include redacting CADS/Custody records /Signs for the case files, working with NICE and ensuring that we are labelling correctly, clipping videos and sending out links to victims and witnesses to upload evidence. ASA's will also be assisting with File Builds and Casefile organisation with direction of the OIC. This will be an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team and build a skill set based within a specialist area of safeguarding. The work we do does involve offences against children and adults and therefore an understanding of the sensitivity of this type of work is required. The team is supportive and when jobs come in there is a very much 'working together' attitude which is essential within this type of investigations. The role is full time and will be a Mon-Fri 0800-1600hrs, but flexible working can be discussed.

Skills & Experience:

  • Able to work calmly, methodically and accurately, using own initiative, while under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and work within strict timescales.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to respond to correspondence and enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Experience of working in a team and contributing to unit objectives.
  • Able to understand and comply with the requirements of GDPR and the management of confidential information.
  • Experience of working with databases and spreadsheets and of creating and analysing management information.
  • Able to produce clear, legible, concise and accurate data reports.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Adobe.
  • Able to complete evidential statements detailing activities undertaken in relation to the redaction of evidence.
  • Willing and able to undertake training to become proficient in using additional IT and multimedia systems that are essential to the role.
  • Be willing, if required, to attend court and account for actions undertaken to generate exhibits.
  • Have the personal resilience to handle material of a sensitive and/or distressing nature.
