Shape the Future of IFCA Officer Training

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Training Manager to lead the development and delivery of a national training programme supporting Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (IFCAs) across England. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening compliance and enforcement capability, ensuring IFCA officers are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to protect our marine environment. About the Role

As IFCA Training Manager, you will:

  • Lead the strategy, design and delivery of national compliance and enforcement training for IFCA officers
  • Develop and implement a standardised training programme for new and existing officers, including CPD pathways
  • Deliver key training such as Enforcement and Advanced Enforcement Courses
  • Coordinate subject matter experts and support a collaborative approach to training delivery across all IFCAs
  • Deliver face-to-face and practical training across England, tailored to local operational needs
  • Support the development of best practice in enforcement techniques and innovation

About You

We are looking for a motivated professional who brings:

  • Strong background in compliance and enforcement, ideally within a regulatory or operational environment
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programmes
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and agencies
  • Ability to lead, influence and develop others
  • Experience in the marine, fisheries or environmental sector
  • Training or teaching qualification
  • Knowledge of accredited training and quality assurance processes (e.g. IQA)
  • Experience working within multi-agency enforcement environments

Additional Information

Regular travel across England is required. Hosted by Sussex IFCA for employment purposes, with national responsibilities through the Association of IFCAs. You will lead and contribute to a nationally agreed training strategy and programme.
