This role is to provide a responsive maintenance service in respect to repairs, cleaning and grounds maintenance to Woodlands Care Home. The role includes maintaining the building and surrounding areas to a high standard. This includes:

  • Painting
  • Clearing blockages
  • Ensuring clear and safe access to the building
  • Understanding the heating and electrical plant and making adjustments where necessary
  • Reporting defects to the manager
  • Maintaining appropriate records
  • Undertaking minor repairs and replacement of parts

You will also be responsible for regular Health and Safety checks to the building and grounds (i.e. Legionella, Fire, PAT testing), including recording results of checks and reporting exceptions to the site manager.

Candidate requirements:

  • Knowledge of general building maintenance and experience working in a health and safety regulated environment, including basic Health and Safety checks to residential buildings
  • Preferably building trade based qualified and PAT testing certified
  • Empathetic and considerate nature
  • Previous experience working in an older persons housing and care setting is advantageous, but not essential
  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
