We are looking for a Deputy Manager for our dementia friendly care home in Haywards Heath. There are exciting times ahead as we expand our home this year from 33 to a 60 bed home. You'll be part of an expanding team as the home grows!
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Care Home Manager in the day to day running of the home, deputising for the manager in their absence to ensure high standards are maintained within the home.
- Assisting the manager to ensure the home is sufficiently staffed at all times providing a consistent service to the residents and to be on call at certain times.
- Assisting the Care Home or Head of Care with assessing potential residents, ensuring the home maintains a high level of occupancy.
- Assisting the Home Manager with identifying and addressing any resident, relative and staff issues.
- Ensuring the home meets its regulatory and legal requirements.
We are looking for someone who has:
- NVQ level 4 or equivalent and working towards NVQ level 5.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory position within a care setting.
- The ability to effectively lead and develop a high performing team.
- Experience of managing staff and helping them develop through learning, staff supervisions and appraisals.
- Understanding of the issues involved in caring for frailer older people.
- Sound understanding of the Fundamental Standards of Quality and Safety.
- Understanding of safeguarding.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills and is willing to learn new systems.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
