We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian to join our stud team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to gain and expand experience in advanced reproductive techniques and foal management within a supportive, highly skilled team. Sussex Equine Hospital is located in Ashington in beautiful West Sussex. Explore the South Downs, relax at nearby beaches, or enjoy city life in Brighton and London with excellent train links.
You will have the support of a Tier 3 hospital with board-certified specialists in internal medicine, theriogenology and surgery. Our hospital features:
- Two hospital barns
- Separate isolation facility
- Modern surgical suite
- Advanced imaging facilities including CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine
- On-site laboratory

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
This role offers a varied caseload involving Thoroughbred, Sport and leisure horse breeding management involving:
- Artificial insemination with fresh and frozen semen
- Embryo transfer
- Ovum pick-up (OPU)
- Routine stallion semen collection and freezing
- Foal medicine and youngstock management
