Seasonal Stud Veterinarian 1 March - 31 August 2026
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian with experience in equine stud medicine to join our stud team for the 2026 breeding season. This role offers a varied caseload involving Thoroughbred, Sport and leisure horse breeding management involving:
- Artificial insemination with fresh and frozen semen
- Embryo transfer
- Ovum pick‑up (OPU)
- Routine stallion semen collection and freezing
- Foal medicine and youngstock management
You will have the support of a Tier 3 hospital with board‑certified specialists in internal medicine, theriogenology and surgery. You will do a share of the on call rota for the weekends. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to gain and expand experience in advanced reproductive techniques and foal management within a supportive, highly skilled team.
Location: Sussex Equine Hospital is located in Ashington in beautiful West Sussex. Explore the South Downs, relax at nearby beaches, or enjoy city life in Brighton and London with excellent train links.
