About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and professional individual to join our IT Helpdesk team as a First Line Support Technician (IT Apprentice). This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stage of their IT career to gain practical experience within a structured and supportive environment. The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support to users across multiple locations, while developing skills in key technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft Intune. In addition to day-to-day support activities, the role will involve participation in IT projects, offering broader exposure to infrastructure and systems development. This position operates on a hybrid basis, with a requirement to travel regularly across sites in Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver first-line IT support via helpdesk, telephone, remote access tools and in-person assistance
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops and mobile devices
- Configure devices, user accounts and system access for new starters
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user management and basic troubleshooting
- Assist with device management through Microsoft Intune under supervision
- Provide support with basic Azure administration tasks
- Manage and update support tickets in accordance with agreed service levels
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members as appropriate
- Contribute to IT projects, including system deployments, upgrades and improvements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
- Travel to business sites to provide on-site support when required
Candidate Profile:
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in IT and a commitment to developing a career within the field.
- Basic understanding of IT support principles, including hardware and Windows operating systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- A proactive and organised approach to work
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Willingness to travel between locations as required
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
