At Susquehanna, quantitative researchers drive innovation from the centre of our trading floor. Leveraging expertise in probability, statistics, numerical analysis, stochastic optimisation, and machine learning, they play a pivotal role in developing and refining our trading strategies. We are looking for recent or upcoming PhD and research master’s graduates to join our quantitative research graduate programme. Run by a team of dedicated senior traders and quantitative researchers, our education programme is widely recognised as being the best in the industry. Don’t worry if you don’t come from a finance background – we will teach you everything you need to succeed.

A core strength of our graduate programme is that our education is complemented by hands‑on trading games and project work. Through this work, graduates gain exposure to all phases of the work of quantitative researchers including problem conceptualisation, modelling, strategy back‑testing and iteration, implementation, and monitoring.

What We’re Looking For

  • Research‑minded: You enjoy diving deep into a question and building mathematical models to reveal patterns in vast amounts of data.
  • Analytical & detail‑oriented: You approach problems with a curious and analytical mindset – building models, interpreting data, and uncovering insights with precision.
  • Clear communicator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with and are comfortable sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts, and listening to the views of others.
  • Soon‑to‑be research master’s/PhD graduate or post‑doc: You have completed research in a quantitative discipline and are available to join the graduate programme in June 2027.

What’s In It For You

  • Education: Our industry‑leading education programme is designed to facilitate researchers’ transition to the world of quantitative trading. You will attend classes covering a vast range of topics (Options Pricing, Machine Learning, Data Analysis Techniques, Game Theory… the list goes on!) from some of the most experienced employees in Susquehanna.
  • Collaboration: You will get to work with a wide range of people in the classroom and through your project work; people who share a passion for mathematics, problem‑solving, game theory, and technology.
  • Culture: Our non‑hierarchical, casual, and collaborative culture allows employees of every level to thrive.
  • Perks: We offer a highly competitive compensation package to our graduates. Located in our brand new office in London’s city centre, our office features free onsite catering, a games room and dedicated education space.
