ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll spend the majority of your time dreaming up, creating and optimising social-first content for one of our clients' social media channels. From trend-led Instagram Reels and TikToks to humour-driven reactive content, you’ll help turn ideas into content people actually want to watch. Working closely within the team, you’ll have deep responsibility across the social content process - from spotting opportunities and developing ideas through to filming, editing, publishing and analysing performance. Alongside content creation, you’ll also contribute to community management and help identify insights that shape future creative decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Ideation: Constantly generate fresh, entertaining and trend-led ideas for short-form social content that feel native to platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Video Creation: Film, edit and publish engaging short-form videos that stop people scrolling and encourage meaningful engagement.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay ahead of emerging platform trends, viral formats, creators and internet culture, identifying opportunities before they become overused.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with our Creative team to refine ideas, experiment with new formats and continually raise the standard of our social output.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor the performance of your content, analysing metrics such as watch time, retention and engagement to continually improve future ideas.
  • Community Management: Help manage interactions across client social channels, responding to followers and contributing to the development of engaging online communities.
  • Creative Contribution: Like everyone at Sushi, you’ll contribute ideas across the wider agency and play an active role in creative brainstorms and campaign development.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Has 4+ years creating social-first content, either agency-side, brand-side or as a creator.
  • Has a strong portfolio of short-form video content.
  • Understands what makes content succeed on Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Is passionate about internet culture, trends and humour.
  • Is confident filming and editing social content.
  • Is comfortable appearing on camera where appropriate.
  • Understands how to interpret content performance and use insights to improve future work.

Demonstrating Knowledge of Frameworks

Familiarise yourself with the frameworks and models used in social work, such as the Strengths-Based Approach or the Ecological Perspective. Be ready to discuss how these frameworks apply to your work, especially if you can tie them into real-world examples or case studies you've encountered.

Showcasing Your Multi-Disciplinary Skills

In a full-time social work role, you'll often collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and law enforcement. Be prepared to describe your teamwork experiences and how you've effectively communicated with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Preparing for Scenario-Based Questions

Think through your thought process for these scenarios beforehand, considering how you'd assess the situation and what steps you'd take, as this demonstrates your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
