The role of the Operations Business Partner is to provide operational support and guidance to the Global Services team. This role is instrumental in driving operational excellence by partnering with Services leadership and key stakeholders to optimise revenue forecasting, revenue recognition, cultivate strong relationships, and establish robust processes and governance frameworks. The role contributes to the efficiency and scalability of the Services organization, directly impacting the ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Services leadership and Finance to create accurate revenue forecasts.
- Manage the Revenue Recognition process to ensure data is collected, submitted, and reconciled according to deadlines and financial policies.
- Work with Data Scientists to develop forecasting models and analyse data to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support the annual budgeting and long‑range planning processes.
- Assist in creating and issuing Commission Plan letters.
- Prepare and facilitate regular Business Review Meetings.
- Maintain the Professional Services Automation (PSA) tooling, facilitate resource planning within it, and support process changes.
- Support the Operations Hub with internal process audits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Services leadership, delivery teams, and finance.
- Act as a liaison between the GEO Services team and the Operations hub.
- Serve as a trusted business partner for operational matters.
- Chair forecast review meetings, collating updates to produce an accurate forecast.
- Identify areas for process improvement and optimisation.
- Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of standardised processes.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure adherence to processes and policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver training on new or updated processes.
- Work with Data Scientists and the Operations Hub to develop KPIs and dashboards to track performance (e.g., consulting utilisation, partner delivery metrics).
- Review performance data to identify trends and highlight areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in an operations, business partnering, or similar role within a software or technology company, ideally with exposure to Services operations.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of Services business models, revenue recognition principles, and key operational metrics and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain accurate revenue forecasts.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different teams and levels.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Experience in process definition, documentation, and implementation with a focus on process improvement.
- Proficiency in using business intelligence tools and reporting software (e.g., Salesforce (Service Cloud and Sales Cloud), Excel, Google Workspace/Google sheets).
- Familiarity with Finance reporting tools (PBI), CRM, ERP and PSA (Professional Services Automation, such as Clarizen) systems.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to drive efficiencies.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, communicating complex information.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Working to schedules and deadlines with an ability to manage multiple activities and prioritise.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to understand the core business that is being supported (Consulting, Premium Support, Training, Operations and Programs).
Desirable Skills
- Experience with project management and change methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Lewin's McKinsey 7s).
