The Role
We seek an innovative and strategic Senior Manager, Portfolio & Role Enablement to lead, provide clear vision for portfolio, role enablement and platforms strategy. To closely align with SUSE product and portfolio leadership teams, manage our content and portfolio development initiatives and oversee the strategy of our learning content platforms and management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience strategizing, planning and creating impactful training materials, leading content development teams, and optimizing content platforms to enhance learning experiences. This role is pivotal in shaping our training strategy, ensuring our content is engaging, effective, and aligned with organisational goals. This leader will be responsible for operational success, strategic alignment, and the integration of activities across all SUSE business units, as well as aligning our strategy from content creation to effective execution.
Focus Areas
- Define and drive a clear vision for portfolio enablement strategy, role & solution‑oriented enablement, and platform delivery & management excellence.
- Leading cross‑portfolio connections to align business objectives with execution.
- Regularly engage with senior leadership to understand training needs and to ensure strategic alignment with SUSE Portfolio Strategy and Roadmaps, and ensure training content supports organisational goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content development strategy that aligns with the organisation's learning objectives and business goals.
- Drive the evolution of our content platforms to ensure they meet the organisation's needs and enhance the learner experience.
- Act as a thought leader in developing training frameworks, sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, CVI and best practices.
Content Development & Delivery
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality training assets, including instructor‑led training, eLearning modules, videos, manuals, and interactive content that aligns with SUSE’s organisational goals and evolving business needs.
- Ensure content is up‑to‑date, relevant, and tailored to the specific needs of different audiences and learning objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop compelling content solutions.
Platform Management
- Oversee the management and optimisation of training content platforms to ensure seamless delivery and accessibility.
- Implement and manage content management systems (CMS) and learning management systems (LMS) to support training initiatives.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvements based on user feedback and analytics.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing team of Enablement & Delivery Managers, content developers, instructional designers, and platform administrators.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics for team members, conducting regular reviews and providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Proactively contribute to ideas that are innovative to the portfolio development process, creating efficiency in process and communication to stakeholders, helping to avoid escalation in technical problems.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with SUSE portfolio Business units, the CTO office, and Chief Strategy Management to closely align with portfolio strategy and product roadmaps and develop and implement comprehensive learning strategies to strengthen our SUSE Portfolio & Value Selling Knowledge.
- To ensure training content aligns with organisational strategies and addresses key business needs.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve content and platform effectiveness.
Project Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of content development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Data Analysis And Reporting
- Design, track and analyse the effectiveness of training content and platforms using key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics using Power BI, Tableau etc.
- Prepare and present reports on content performance, learner engagement, and platform usage to inform strategic decisions.
Skills Needed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in developing vision, strategy and plans for portfolio enablement, role enablement and learning management platforms.
- Ability to align content creation to content execution.
- Experience in driving GTM strategies and product enablement focusing on Emerging solutions and sales, channel sales, presales and partners.
- At least 5+ years of sales experience and/or sales leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of instructional design principles, content creation processes, and sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger and CVI.
- Strong proficiency in using CMS, LMS platforms, and content development tools.
- Experience in using AI, automation, or digital tools to drive efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Technical knowledge to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
- Strong data visualization skills, ability to analyse data and use insights to drive business performance reviews and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau etc.
- Experience in managing budgets, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to navigate challenges and find solutions and resolve roadblocks.
