Senior Lecturer/Reader in WASH Impact Evaluation at Cranfield University

In this role you will lead and mentor a well‑established WASH team within the Cranfield Water Science Institute (CWSI), provide strategic direction for an already successful teaching and research programme, rapidly embed yourself within CWSI’s teaching and research activities, and generate significant research and teaching income through leading large grant bids and organising short courses. You will also lead the Community Water and Sanitation MSc and the Water and Sanitation for Low Income Countries Community of Practice.
Qualifications:
- PhD or EngD in a field related to WASH Impact Evaluation (e.g., economics, development studies, technology evaluation, spatial geography, water management)
- Extensive track record of winning and delivering research projects funded by both the public and private sectors
- Strong peer‑reviewed publication record and teaching and supervision experience at the post‑graduate level
- Deep understanding of contemporary challenges facing the WASH sector and practical knowledge of the design and implementation of WASH interventions
- Ability to connect technocratic aspects of service delivery with the social, economic, political and institutional contexts in which services are delivered
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence working with senior colleagues and research sponsors
